Professional Coaching
With Reinventing Carrière coachingDefinition of coaching
ICF (International Coaching Federation), the biggest worldwide organization of professional coach, defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.
In practice, we can describe coaching as a supporting system, oriented towards action and solution, which aims for mesurable results in a predefined period. Coaching is different from consulting, counseling and training/courses – its purpose is not to provide a solution, nor to heal mental wounds linked to personal history, nor to teach textbook knowledge. The client, who can be an individual or a group, is supported in elaborating aloud on his/her subject, to clarify his/her objective and to find his/her own solutions.
The role of coach
A Coach is a “process expert” and the master of the coaching framework. He/she understands the core of the client’s professional subjects without being an expert in the client’s specialized domain. A Coach considers the client to be a partner, and in this partnership, the client is the only one responsible for his/her own objective and decisions.
The role of a Coach is to support the client to
- clarify his/her objective,
- identify his/her motivations and competencies,
- explore his/her resources and expand his/her options,
- commit himself/herself to his/her action plan and progress.
In this fast-moving world, the future becomes less and less predictable and everyone needs to adapt to constant changes. This is especially true for international managers who work in a multicultural environment under the pressure of globalization.
A Coach is the best partner on the path towards professional evolution, who supports clients with inspiration, discernment and feedback to more quickly achieve results and to continue to grow.

The elements below are non-rigid principles of our practice and services:
Working in live sessions
Coaching is based on what emerges during interactions with the coach during the session (whether face-to-face, by phone, or via video conference). This dynamic allows the coachee to clarify their request and situation, build their vision, and uncover potential solutions.
Expanding the “frame of reference”
Through dialogue and the relationship they build with their coach, the coachee explores and uncovers key aspects of their frame of reference. Gaining awareness through coaching enables the coachee to broaden this framework and discover their own resources.
As coaching sessions progress, the coachee gains a new perspective on their context and professional relationships, often adopting new behaviors as a result.
Alignment
The “subject” of a coaching intervention is always the individual or team being coached. For the coachee, working in coaching means working on oneself—enhancing self-awareness, desire, confidence, commitment, relationships, and skills, all with the goal of fostering greater autonomy.
Coaching, therefore, facilitates better alignment between one’s internal and external resources, supporting personal growth to achieve predefined objectives.
Modeling
In the coaching relationship, the coach applies principles of effectiveness and responsibility that serve as a model for the coachee.
Examples include respecting contractual commitments, maintaining a clear focus on objectives, managing time effectively, and more.
Trust, confidentiality, and non-judgment
The coach commits to complete confidentiality regarding what they learn about the coachee. No information about the sessions is shared with the company or any external parties.
Sessions and process
Sessions are tailored in terms of location, duration, and process, depending on the objectives, framework, and what is most comfortable and effective for the coachee. For each coachee, the operational details of the sessions are defined within the “coaching contract.”
